![]() If I could stay out of the vets office...I might get more jewelry made. This week it was Lady. Again. We still don't know if she'll be okay. Possible intestinal blockage or possibly IBD. Treating for IBD as I didn't have the funds for a surgical exploration. Xrays and ultrasound have been done...to the tune of wayyyyyy more jewelry than I offer on this site at this time. Needless to say, all proceeds will be going to pay this bill. Sure would be nice if someday I could take my earnings and pay regular bills...such as the utilities or phone. Sigh. Tired of these emergency things...now I feel like *I* should see a doctor! If I could stay out of the vet's office... 08/28/2009
I might get more jewelry made. :) ![]() Our little girl Oreo has been sick recently with a nasty case of hookworms. Since she's an outdoor-only cat (one of six!), she's susceptible to picking up all kinds of things. We noticed there was a problem when her weight dropped dramatically in one weeks time. So she visited Mr. Vet and got her treatment...we were assured everything would be fine. Yet I few days ago, I took her back again because she still wasn't gaining weight. After another test, she was ruled "parasite free", and the vet sent us home, with instructions that if she didn't gain weight within 2 weeks, we'd have to bring her back in for blood tests. Ca-ching ca-ching! She must have listened to what he said, and been tired of being poked and prodded (enough already!), because within hours of bringing her home, she started eating right. Now she's gained almost another pound. You go, Oreo. :) Eat all you want! So who's next? Our dog Lady. Had some stomach issue, so off I go to the vet again. They couldn't find anything. Oh well, a couple more hours down the drain, and by the time half the day was over, she was fine. (I wouldn't have gone for this in the first place, but she's the dog who ended up in the ER on July 4th...I didn't want a repeat!) And now my daughter's throat is "itchy". Joy. Would everyone just get well and STAY WELL, pul-hee-ze? In the meantime, I've had lots of great ideas for new designs, and I hope to get to at least one of them this weekend. Of course there is the dripping faucet and toilet flapper issues that need to be handled...but I think they might just have to wait. Satisfying my creation withdrawl is much more important!
