The Daily Texture for 02/07/2015
Today's Daily Texture is a dramatic, moody one, featuring teal green, tan and gray. I decided to play with this one in a little different way. Using a river shot I took from the car window on a cold, cloudy, overcast winter day, I added "Dark Shore" on top to give it more of a moodiness feeling. I added the texture on top as a multiply layer at 100% and immediately got some color and texture in the sky, which I liked. I didn't like the way it darkened the water, so I masked the texture off the water area. Then I duplicated that texture layer and set it to soft light at 100%. Once again, I masked some of that layer off the water layer. Now I have a photo which is more the way I "saw" it when I took the picture. It still amazes me how textures can take an ordinary, blah photo and turn it into a work of art!
