The Daily Texture for 03/18/2015
Evening At Shiloh

Inspired by the blue, peach, and gray colors in the sky with the setting sun at Shiloh Park in Tennessee last night, I thought it was a good one to pair with this photo I took of the flag at the Shiloh Visitor Center yesterday morning. The flag photo was beautiful...blowing in the wind with a touch of sunlight against a brilliant blue sky. But ... how many millions of photos are out there just like it? Countless! By adding a texture, my flag image is now unique and different. I added the texture on top of the flag photo {after cropping the photo into a square}, and set that layer to multiply at 100%. Then I gently masked off some of the texture from the flag. I then duplicated that same texture layer I had just masked, and set that layer to multiply as well, but only at 50%. Then I went and grabbed the main texture again {not masked} and set it on top of everything, choosing overlay for the layer mode. I set this layer mode to about 40%. This boosted that little bit of light glowing on the material of the flag, and boosted the colors of the entire image. |
