Over Land and Sea
| Today's Daily Texture is filled with the brilliant colors of our land, sea, and skies. I paired this texture with one of my lion photos, first as a background, and also as layers on top. After I had everything looking the way I wanted, I decided my lion was too detailed. I wanted to soften him a bit to better blend him with the texture. So I duplicated his layer and used Topaz Simplify to enable a pastel filter. This softened the edges of his fur, and made him look more painterly. I set that layer at about 50%, and masked off some of that layer from around his eye and face in order to maintain some detail in those areas. Then I used Topaz Lens Effects to choose a gold reflector light across the top of the merged image. |  |
